My current landscapes were created as part of an environmental art activism group, For the Seventh Generation. Through peaceful means, we presented images to generate awareness of the need to preserve the Pacific coastline for future generations.

When I began painting the first painting, I realized something was missing from the landscape. It was my brother's Golden Retriever, Mitsu. She is my beach companion and a true "surf hound!" So this is the series of Beach and Mitsu paintings. Enjoy!

One-third of prices for my project-paintings will be donated to an environmental arts organization. The buyer can select from my selected organizations, which are the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Surfrider Foundation of Santa Cruz.

Nature, to me, represents the existance of a higher being. It is a place of beauty and peace. Being outdoors affirms my spirituality and the blessings that the world gifts to all of us. In this project, artists "claim" one mile of Pacific coastline and commit to painting a painting-a-year of that beach. My beach of choice was Davenport Landing Road beach, north of Santa Cruz, CA.

Last Dog on the Beach was inspired by a photograph from www.californiacoastline.org, where the founder has photographed the California coastline by helicopter!

Half Dome was inspired by my backpacking days.
